2007 Bay Thoroughbred by Medallist - Expect Excellence

 

Racing Career

Selling at the 2008 Fasig Tipton Saratoga Preferred Yearling Sale for $120,000, his conformation & walk were praised from a young age.

A winner of $701,822, Ibboyee broke his maiden at first asking at Saratoga. He was named the 2009 NY Bred 2 Year-Old Male of the Year after winning 4 out of 5 races, three of which were Black Type Stakes, in a span of 4 months.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, he was Multiple Graded Stakes Placed, including in the 2011 G3 Churchill Downs Stakes on Kentucky Derby Day. He finished a hard charging 3rd up the outside in front of nearly 165,000 screaming spectators.

Ibboyee came back to form later that year, winning the John Morrissey Stakes at Saratoga.

He retired after the 2011 season with a 19: 7-3-3 record. 

Sport Horse Career

Not missing a beat transitioning into the show ring, Ibboyee has dozens of Championships & Year End Awards to his name. He has successfully competed through the 1.1m Show Jumpers. In 2017 he finished in 9th place at the TIP Championships in the 2’9” Show Jumpers. 

In the Dressage ring, he has shown both Locally & Nationally through Second Level, & is schooling up through Fourth Level movements. His gaits are regular & methodical, & he has an exceptional talent for collection & lateral work. In 2018 he participated in a piaffe clinic with Claudio Oliviera, & received high praise for his trainability & willingness to sit & collect for piaffe.

Offspring​

Ibboyee passes along his excellent conformation, levelheaded demeanor, & athletic​ ability. His foals have been well balanced & large, with good feet & compact frames. They have demonstrated trainability with a desire to please. 

Live covers of registered Thoroughbred mares are eligible to be Jockey Club Registered. He has been granted breeding permits by Oldenburg North America.

4/18/2007 - 6/17/2024

Ibboyee passed away unexpectedly at age 17, from complications following a successful colic surgery at Rood & Riddle. He leaves a vast hole in our hearts, & an even larger one the barn. He is loved, & missed. We look forward to watching his offspring carry on his legacy.
