Conventionalwisdom is a lightly raced daughter of the 2016 Eclipse Champion Turf Male Flintshire. Racing through his 6yo year on 4 continents, Flintshire retired with earnings of over €9,829,000, & a record of 24: 8-12-1.
Her damsire Iffraaj is a Multiple Graded Stakes winner, who raced exclusively in Great Britain & France. Standing at stud via Darley at the Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, his offspring are perennial Grade 1 winners.
Her dam, Perfect Step, is also the dam of 4 other live foals, 3 of which have been exported to Europe. "Wiz's" 2021 sister Miyako (by Yoshida) is currently in training with Bryan Lynch, & recently broke her maiden. The tendency toward a grass pedigree will be influential to Wiz's offspring & continued success as an eventer.
Wiz has excellent conformation, as was independently established by her sale as a weanling at Tattersalls for $96,098. While her career on the racetrack didn't pan out, Wiz successfully made the switch to eventing!
She has competed through the Beginner Novice level, & between foals she may continue to dabble in USEA Events throughout the Lexington area.
We are extremely excited to add this mare to the CBF Breeding Program, & can't wait to see what she produces for us in 2026.
